2006 JAKES Conservation Field Day

Each year the chapter holds a JAKES Field Day where youth are given an introduction to wild turkey lore, hunting tactics, and shooting safety.

This years event will be held September 30, 2006 at the PSC Shooting Club there JAKES learned about wild turkey hunting and hunting safety, as well as had a chance to shoot archery, small bore rifles, and shotguns (some for the first time). We want to thank the folks at PSC for helping make this great event possible.

Scholarship Program These scholarships are set up to ensure the NWTF has the dedicated conservationists needed for the future. Applicants for the scholarship are judged on their scholastic achievements, leadership abilities, community involvement and commitment to conservation. (more info)

Education Boxes In conjunction with the National office of the NWTF we have provided conservation education boxes to area educators for use in the classroom. This educational tool exposes children to the joy of natural resources like the wild turkey and the importance of managing this resource properly to insure it is available for generations to come
